Dear Wushu friends,
Croatian Wushu Federation (CWUF) proudly invites you to the European Open Wushu Tournament, taking place in Zagreb, Croatia from November 21 to 23, 2025.
This event joins the circle of open tournaments taking place between official WKFE championships.
Why are open tournaments important?
Simply put, the number of athletes within WKFE member federations is currently not sufficient to ensure strong competition across all categories. Open tournaments help us increase participation, especially in underrepresented disciplines, and build bridges between national federations and independent practitioners, between Europe and other continents.
Our Focus: Inclusion and Development
CWUF is committed to promoting inclusiveness and growth, particularly in the following disciplines:

Tuishou (Pushing Hands)
Tuishou is rapidly expanding worldwide as a popular practice. Our goal is to help this movement evolve into a modern, technical, and attractive sport, on par with Taolu and Sanda.
We encourage all Tuishou clubs across Europe — even those currently outside national federations — to join and help strengthen Tuishou within WKFE structures. This tournament is a significant step in that direction.
🥊Light Sanda
For those who appreciate Chinese boxing but prefer a non-full-contact format, Light Sanda offers a safe and technical alternative. With clearly defined rules and skilled judges, it serves both – athletes interested only in light contact fighting – and those preparing for full-contact Sanda.
We aim to see both Tuishou and Light Sanda athletes proudly competing at the 2026 European Championship in Lyon (May 5–10) as members of their national federations, as well as we hope we can build a bridge over continents and develop these disciplines in Africa and Panamerican continent.
⚔️ Bing Dao (Soft Sword Fighting)
A new and exciting discipline, Bing Dao is gaining traction among WKFE members. While not yet ready for the European Championships, it is perfect for demonstration and competition at international opens like this one.Zagreb is one among those who will be hosting a series of EC preparation Bing Dao events.
